We believe that a buildings fabric should be carefully considered in the design & planning phase of a building as it plays a leading role in the energy efficiency of a structure. The design & specification of a building fabric is a major determining factor of energy use in any building. It has to strike a balance between ventilation & daylight requirements & the need to provide a comfortable environment for the users.

At Hillen Architects each project is assessed on an individual basis to determine the most appropriate sustainable strategies. Passive strategies are first considered before suggesting technological solutions.
